Floors and Sofas

Its been a few days since I last had the chance to post on this monstrosity...

I'm happy to say I have been extremely busy and there are a couple of reasons due to my lack of blogging. One of the main reasons is due to me starting my new job at Marcus Evans as a Sales Executive in the Branding Summits department. Love it...

The second reason is due to me still being bloody homeless. Yes - I did move into an apartment at the beginning of last week, however the chap whose flat it was had a heart the size of a pea and I moved out. To cut a long story short - he was threatened by my great amount of wit and banter and wanted me out! Small time.

Since I departed the apartment and rooftop pool, I have been couch-surfing around a few friends places in and around Sydney. First place I planted myself was on Alice Cropper's spare sofa for a few nights (thanks Alice and friends...) I thoroughly enjoyed myself with you guys, very hospitable! However, walking up to the bus stop to work in 40degree heat was not an ideal start to my day. Imagine walking up a hill in a suit dripping with sweat at 8am. Id prefer to have HIV. Oh, too soon. On the job front, it is going swimmingly. Completed my first full week doing 8:30-5:30 shifts. In fact - I hit my first weekly target and was rewarded last Friday with a cheeky Japanese lunch with my Boss. CUTE.

My floor of choice to sleep on over the past week or so was Dustin the Dustbin Man. He is great bloke, we started at Marcus Evans together. We have been treating each other to homemade Cheese and Ham sandwiches for lunch each day this week. Fed up of sandwiches already... GIVE ME STEAK. (p.s. he lives near Balmoral Bay - ass seen in the photo... lovely spot!) On the steak front. I have enjoyed a couple of good steaks including a Porterhouse the size of my old mans joke book, all for $12. Great deal.

So yeah, finally... I am in the process of moving into a new flat. The new flat is down at old Coogee. Im going to be living with two girls from a place called Kiama which is 2 hours south of Sydney on the coast.  The handpicked me out of 167 applicants for a housemate. Bad idea... Please welcome Kate and Sarah into my life. Once i find out more about them i shall post something interesting.
Anyways, my days are nearly over when it comes to sleeping on a couch, thank god. Anyone in Sydney, give me a tinkle. My house is your house. Just if you want to stay, a crate of beer is neccessary.

Ta da.

New Beginning...

Hola Amigos..

Before I start ranting on about my bog standard life - I'd like everyone taking a cheeky look at this blog to take a moment and think for those living in Queensland. Cyclone Yasi is literally about to hit land. Its a category 5 cyclone and comes just a couple of weeks after the devastating floods that hit Brisbane... Not going to lie, but these are two of the largest natural disasters to hit Australia, all in the space of two weeks. I have family up there and friends, so for those of you - good luck and I am thinking of you!

Ok. All of that aside, I can happily tell you all that I have a brand new job, and it came about in the strangest possible way... I was out in central Sydney (outside Woolworth's next to Town Hall for those of you who know the area), and I was selling Hair Packages for Red Hot PR. Out of all the thousands of people I could have approached, I approached two women... After successfully selling a package to one of the ladies, I was asked if I wanted a job by the other. I said 'only if it makes me Cash Rich'. She replied 'too right... your incredible at what you do, I can see you driving around in a Vauxhall Corsa in no time'. In all seriousness though - I was offered a second interview for a job on Monday, completed the second interview Tuesday morning at 10:30am, and at 1130am I received a call offering me the job of Sales Executive with Marcus Evans (event management firm - employing 6000 staff worldwide).

I started this new job today... today is Wednesday, and Wednesday is a working day... Up bright and early I chose from a selection of 2 shirts, 3 ties and 1 suit. I looked rather good to be fair. One thing that didn't look good was the shade of red possessing my Shnoz. Not going to lie, I didn't apply the old suncream it on Tuesday afternoon by the pool, and it took a battering along with the rest of this buddhabod.

So yeah, You are now looking at the blog of Sam Russell - Brand Evolution Sales Executive for Marcus Evans. Im extremely happy, and I really hope to succeed in what I do for them as it could potentially be the start of a long career with them - plus they do sponsor folk like me to remain in the country to work for the rest of their lives... not too bad i don't suppose!

Oh, and they also own Ipswich Town Football Club - however I am going to mention that they should perhaps make an attempt to buy out the Glazers and own Manchester United - the best team in the world!

So yeah, thats that for now. I did spend a few days in a sick apartment overlooking Hyde Park in the City, however I have moved out and am going to be in Coogee for a few weeks I think. To be honest I dont care where i live! I just want to be able to sleep, go to work, hang my clothes up and go swimming after work each day, be it in a pool or the sea.

Night night, its past my bedtime... I mist say sorry, as this blog is longer and not as witty as the rest. I now have a job, more responsibility, a heightened level of maturity, a sweaty brow, a stiff neck and I wanted to add some intellectual words to this monstrosity.

Laters alligators... LAAADDDDD. x
